Translations for the Great Commission (January 31, 2022)

This month I'm excited to introduce you to Harold Roesler, the board chair of Completion Global, but also a friend that we worked together for many years at World Impact. And now in his retirement years Harold is continuing to do Great Commission work through translations, and so I'm happy to have him share about the things that God is doing through him.

Harold: “Don and Cathy Allsman have been long time friends and we worked together at The Urban Ministry Institute, a part of World Impact. The Urban Ministry institute, known to everyone as TUMI, focuses on theological education materials with an urban poor context, meaning the material is excellent quality, delivered at low cost, and has benefitted hundreds of Christian leaders nationally and around the world.

“I was brought in specifically to launch and oversee a language translation process for TUMI’s materials from Christian ministries and leaders who were interested in providing seminary-level training materials for folks in their language. Over the four years before I retired, we generated materials in 26 languages. Now in the last two years since retirement, we have continued translation with the major emphasis on a French edition of a 16-course set called “The Capstone Curriculum” for leaders in Central and West Africa, where there is a great need. We are about 40% of the way through.

“I'm also involved in other projects to produce the single volume “Fight the Good Fight of Faith” in Amharic (Ethiopia), Assamese, Telugu, and Odia (India), and Bengali (Bangladesh). And in all these cases we have partners in these countries who work with us to make immediate use of the publications upon completion. If you are interested in knowing more, I'd be happy to tell you more about it.”

We are grateful for Harold’s continued service, getting church leadership training into the hands of those who are in desperate need. We encourage you to support this work financially.
