Last September Cathy started encouraging me to write a second edition of Think Again, a book I wrote in 2018 to help people participate in God’s transforming work. Her argument was that we had learned a lot in the last six years, and an extra chapter would make it even more helpful for people to grow in their faith. Our Board agreed, so we proceeded. In the process, we discovered three additional reasons to pursue this project.
First, we learned about a growing field of ministry called “trauma healing” where people are equipped to recover from past wounds, especially prisoners and under-resourced populations. The goal of trauma healing is “resilience,” the ability to bounce back from difficulty. We discovered there were not many resources to help trauma healing graduates to retain their resilience going forward, so we chose a subtitle based on this theme: “Resilience that Produces a Return on God’s Investment.”
Second, I co-wrote Fight the Good Fight of Faith (FGFF) with Dr. Don Davis, which has been translated in 28 languages to train church leaders. Think Again has been used as a companion or follow-up book so I crafted the second edition to be a better supplement, making it better suited for translation and use internationally
Third, Cathy and I wrote Climbing Up to help people affected by incarceration make a healthy transition from prison to civilian life. We modified Think Again to serve as a sequel to Climbing Up to help with the next steps in their lives.
So I’m happy to announce the second edition of Think Again, which is now available on Amazon.com as a Kindle and softback edition.
It is also available as a free pdf download at our website for those who can’t afford to purchase it: https://www.completion.global/_files/ugd/07594f_2e8faef2bd6c49b1b7b33273c89b63b1.pdf
We have started work on a Spanish translation and then plan a third language for use in Africa or India, like Swahili, French, Hindi, or Telegu.
Please pray this month that we can get the Spanish translation done quickly and this material can find it’s way into the lives of people who would be transformed by it.
Here is a summary of the book:
"The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to give us fullness of life. God wants to shape us to be like Jesus Christ, overflowing with abundance for the good of others. We can participate in God’s work of spiritual warfare by demolishing strongholds, believing truth, and rejecting lies. In all situations, we can learn to Think Again, giving us the resilience we need to produce a return on God’s investment."
